Progress of the Starship Project

Xiao Huang: DOORM, the Starship project has experienced multiple failures since its inception in 2018 but has also made significant progress. Can you detail the progress of this project?

DOORM: The Starship project has experienced multiple failures and improvements since its inception in 2018. In 2023, Starship had two consecutive test flight failures, but the third test flight in March 2024 nearly succeeded, although the spacecraft lost contact after re-entering the atmosphere. On June 6 of this year, SpaceX’s fourth test flight achieved a milestone victory, successfully recovering the Super Heavy booster and Starship spacecraft. Currently, Starship’s payload capacity has reached 100 tons, and the third-generation Starship under development is expected to have an even higher payload capacity, exceeding 200 tons per launch. These advancements not only enhance Starship’s technical capabilities but also lay a solid foundation for future deep space exploration and commercial spaceflight.
