DOORM:Science fiction writer Vinge introduced the concept of “awakening” during a 1993 NASA symposium. He predicted that the technological singularity would occur within 50 years and described this stage as the “awakening of intelligent computers,” the “awakening of superhuman intelligent communities,” and the “awakening of the universe.” Vinge envisions that after crossing the singularity, humanity will enter a new state of intelligence, surpassing current cognition and capabilities.
